Absolutely, no acknowledgement of either of these applications. Past review regarding treatment of their staff comes as no surprise.

This is a secure storage facility for the sort of wine people buy as an investment. It should be noted that you must pre-book if you intend to visit, and that visits are primarily restricted to customers, although they sometimes run tours of the underground tunnels. Anyone unexpected turning up, will be politely but firmly turned away; for understandable security reasons. One important point I should add, is that you should approach from the South, Eastwards; not the North, Southwards. The site includes a network of private roads on private land, which isn't at all clear from the map view.

Archaic company that treat staff awfully

I didn't deal direct but I have been supplied with 2 cases of wine that had been stored with Octavian by my supplier and they were filthy. I know the dirt on the outside doesn't affect the wine on the inside but if I had an underground storage facility with a billion pounds worth of wine then I feel I’d spend some pennies filtering the air that circulates through and doing a spot of dusting from time to time. It’s a big facility but it’s only 50 tennis courts and you brush a clay court every time you use it, takes about 2 minutes.

Enquired about opening an account and was helped by Andy Wadsworth who said "someone will come back to you, I will make sure" and after numerous chases gave up. How are you supposed to trade with someone that can't even be bothered to respond?

If you leave they threaten with court despite 1 of the worse companys for staff turn over ive ever seen. Avoid at all costs.

Very unhelpful and complete lack of customer service. I sent only 3 bottles to a duty paid account, It was booked in with them and I was given a booking in number for the courier which was clearly on the parcel. They still made the courier wait 15mins before refusing it!! Then to top it off they blame it on me for not booking in. The most unhelpful, inept crowd you can imagine who never make a mistake at their end. LOOK ELSE WHERE for a wine storage company!!
